Debadutta Swain popularly known as 'Deb' and 'Deba' among friends has moved away from SPL to NRSC. Dr.Debadutta Swain I remember the day I met him for the first time. March 7, 2007 early morning in Tirupati Railway station along with Denny, Radha and Bijoy. Introducing Deba to me, Denny humorously commented 'He is Debadutta. Though he looks small, he is a Scientist in SPL and we are all JRFs there, ഇവന്‍ ആളൊരു പുലിയാ കേട്ടോ ......?' During the training school, we became friends.  Deba & me On second day evening, I met with a small accident and bruised my leg.  Pain + Vampire mosquitoes caused lots of trouble. When he came to know about the accident, he came to me and enquired about my health. I understood that he is caring and affectionate to other human beings. We maintained our friendship through orkut. When I joined SPL in the later part of the year, he welcomed me to SPL. He asked me to join the community 'Gems of SPL'   ...

This tall young Scientist with an innocent  smile flies away from SPL to take up an assignment in Italy as a visiting Scientist. Dr.K.Krishnamoorthy presenting a memorabilia to Vijayakumar Dr.Vijayakumar Nair , a popular figure in SPL was given a befitting send off by the SPL family on 25-Oct-2010. The quality of his research and his dedication for fulfilling his PhD dream were widely appreciated by the gathering.  Whether experimenting or theoretical modelling/ studies on Aerosols, he did his best and never compromised on the quality. His admits that his inquisitiveness, talent and willpower gathered momentum during the course of his tenure at SPL.  He has been a part of the ISRO's prestigious GBP - ARFI and conducted experiments in Sea, Air and Land. Mahabali visited SPL too...... Onam was celebrated in SPL on 20th Aug.,2010. It was a simple but beautiful event to welcome the home coming of the legendary King ' Mahabali'. ******************** The whole function was a team effort.... The main attraction of the day was the "atham" which was beautifully carpeted in the portico. Atham -- small and beautiful!!!!! It was designed and decorated mainly by the team Neha, Dhanya, Pramod and Neethu with the background support of many RFs, RAs. The small lamps around the circumference glowed gracefully radially outwards showering the warmth and happiness of Onam in all directions. The 'nilavilakku'  filled SPL with the light of wisdom. The celebrations were kindled by Dr.K.Krishnamoorthy, Director, SPL by lighting the traditional lamp and delivering the Onam Message.
